ABOUT MARAIS
Marais Consultants is a woman-owned civil and structural engineering firm founded in New Orleans in 2022 by Jennifer Snape, PE. We provide thoughtful, practical design solutions for municipal, federal, institutional, commercial, and private clients throughout the Gulf Coast region.
Our work includes structural design, historic preservation and adaptive reuse, civil site design, structural inspections, and community outreach. Our structural projects range from new residential and commercial construction to renovations of schools, community facilities, historic buildings, and complex existing structures.
Marais was founded on the belief that strong communication and close coordination lead to better projects—and a more enjoyable design process. We value responsiveness, technical excellence, constructability, and collaboration. We also look for meaningful ways to improve the sustainability and resilience of every project, from efficient structural systems and material reuse to designs that respond to the Gulf Coast’s changing climate.
As a growing firm, Marais gives engineers the opportunity to take ownership of their work, contribute to the direction of the company, and collaborate directly with clients, architects, contractors, and other design professionals. We also believe excellent work should be compatible with a fulfilling life outside the office, which is reflected in our flexible work week, benefits, and PTO policies.
