PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project consists of a phased renovation of a large facility that covers most of the city block on North Alexander Street between Conti Street and Bienville Street in New Orleans. The buildings, built in the 20th century, currently house a metal fabrication company and a brewing equipment company. The renovation is planned as a phased project over the next 5 years to upgrade parts of the site and introduce new uses in other parts.
Marais is responsible for structural design work and stormwater management for
this development. The structural scope includes new construction of a wall between
manufacturing areas, repairs to existing masonry walls, modifications to trusses and
structure, modifications and repairs to foundations, design of new window frames,
loading dock design, rooftop equipment and deck, rollup doors, and floor openings. We also provided a stormwater management plan for the site.
